Sara Felt was introduced to the Pilates method in the mid-1990s as a music student looking for an effective cross-training method to help her body keep up with the physical demands of an orchestral cellist. She became a dedicated Pilates student when the method helped her recover from an overuse injury that left her unable to perform for several months. Inspired to share the work with other instrumentalists, she began teaching 2004. She has since worked with many professional and student musicians and received research grants and presented lectures on injury prevention for instrumentalists. In addition, Sara works with a diverse clientele that includes athletes, dancers, movement and fitness professionals, post rehab clients, and men and women of all ages and abilities. Sara is the director of Pilates Performance & Rehab, Lawrence’s premier Pilates studio. She is also on the faculty of Balanced Body Education, and teaches the Comprehensive Pilates and Barre instructor training programs, as well as continuing education & specialty workshops. She holds certificates through Balanced Body, Fletcher Pilates (Towelwork®, Floorwork®, and Barrework™), and Centerworks®, and has completed continuing education with numerous master instructors and first generation Pilates teachers.Browse All Classes
