Born in Princeton New Jersey on Jan. 9, 1949. Grew up in San Francisco, CA from 1955-1967. Graduated from Sarah Lawrence College in 1971. Took classes in Ceramics at the Corcoran school of art in Washington D.C. in 1973. Received an MFA in Ceramics and Sculpture from the Boston Museum School of Fine Arts in 1975. Moved to San Francisco where Michael Zanfagna and I created a ceramics design and manufacturing company called CLAY ART, specializing in collectibles and tableware, 1976 – 2006. Married John Fredrick Doores in 1986. Have 2 children – Christina Zanfagna, a professor of Ethnomusicology at Santa Clara University, and Sam Doores, singer/songwriter and band leader. Moved to Lawrence in 2012 after a few years in Port Townsend, WA, and a few in Austin, TX. Freddy and I now live on 20 acres 5 min. south of Oskaloosa.Browse All Classes

This class is the usual open-ended sculpture class with a special option: instruction in dressing the figure through the use of real fabric dipped in slip and/or sculpting fabric in clay.
