Moods of Poetry
Ages 14 - Adult
Celebrate Poetry Month with a workshop for veteran poets, beginners, and readers of poetry. Writing begins with a mood. This workshop explains how to fit the mysterious emotional energy to verse. Quick anger calls for short poems with short, tense lines. Nature poetry lends itself to rambling odes. Learn best practices and traditions from a master poet. Students will examine examples and write drafts in class. Optional sharing and critiques. The class includes the book Moods in Poetry: A Guidebook for Writers.
