Bailey Marable

Bailey is a high school art teacher and has degrees in art education and metalsmithing from KU. She is married to an amazing artist.... and has 3 lovely little ladies. With the discovery of tiny drill bits and saw blades she has really challenged herself with fine details created by hand. She is happy to do custom work-- sawing out letters, animals, and more.

Beginning Metalsmithing

Beginning Metalsmithing

Adults / 14 and Up

Students will learn the basics of creating jewelry with sheet metal. We will do a pendant the first few classes that involves sawing, sanding, filing, soldering, and setting a stone. When that project is complete, students will be able to choose additional projects. Things like rings, earrings, pendants, bracelets, and small sculpture are all options to explore. Students may want to bring in small stones for first their first project. Copper and first stone provided, silver available for sale during class (expect first projects to cost $5-10 if working with silver).
